Mission, Vision, and History

Choose a nursing home committed to serving the Eau Claire area.

We recognize that increasing value and continuously improving quality are essential to maintaining excellence in our nursing home. Since we purchased the Center of Care in 1997 from Eau Claire County and began operating as Dove Healthcare, we have become a leading healthcare provider in the Eau Claire area.

We are part of a small, local organization that is based right here in the Chippewa Valley. Our affiliates through common ownership include:

Dove Healthcare - West

Orchard Hills Assisted Living

Rutledge Home Assisted Living and Memory Care

Transitions Rehabilitation

Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center

Benefit from a strong history in growth and innovation.

Dove Healthcare began operations as a licensed 140-bed nursing home in the existing structure on Eau Claire's west side. Within two years, we added Orchard Hills Assisted Living, a 12-bed community-based residential facility that occupied an empty wing of the building. In 2000, Orchard Hills expanded into a second wing, adding 12 more beds. In 2005, they built a new 26-bed structure, leaving the previously occupied space open for growth at Dove Healthcare. Today, this vacated space houses The Suites as part of our Transitions Rehabilitation short-term rehabilitation program. Dove Healthcare's license capacity increased to a 160-bed skilled nursing facility. Orchard Hills is now a 39-bed assisted living facility, having seen the last of its expansion in 2008.

In 2004, Dove Healthcare added another affiliate, Rutledge Home, a 92-bed nursing home in Chippewa Falls. Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center, a 135-bed skilled nursing facility, was purchased as a third affiliate in late 2005. In early 2007, Rutledge Home merged operations with Wissota Health. The merger allowed for more efficient operations at both Chippewa Falls facilities. Since then, Rutledge Home has been transitioned into a 46-bed assisted living facility, with part of its focus on Memory Care.

In 2008, plans began for a new, state-of-the-art skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on the grounds of the former Unity Health & Fitness on Highway 93 South in Eau Claire. The original location was renamed Dove Healthcare - West, and the new location was announced as Dove Healthcare - South.

Dove Healthcare-South officially opened in September 2009 and provides a beautiful, safe, and homelike environment for seniors needing both short- and long-term care. The 50-bed skilled nursing facility not only provides the community with a dynamic option for care, but it helps the community as it deals with the increased elderly population and the shift in care from the acute care setting. The 4,000 square foot therapy gym is an expansion of our Transitions Rehabilitation program at Dove Healthcare - West and at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center. Ultimately, Dove Healthcare - South helps us to better handle the region’s short-term care needs today and well into the future.

Through the years since Dove Healthcare's origination, it is clear our steady growth is a result of our consistent approach — defining what we do well, doing more of it as often as we can, and growing as our resources allow.

Our intention is to be the choice healthcare provider and employer for what we do in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and the surrounding Wisconsin communities.

Our Mission

As an innovative healthcare provider and community partner, we provide compassionate care and service to meet the needs of those who depend on us. We commit to excellence through adherence to high standards, disciplined leadership, and mutual respect for all.

Our Vision

We strive to be consistently recognized as the provider and employer of choice for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in our community. As such, we will continue to dedicate resources toward system improvements and new program development in an effort to sustain our leadership role in the long-term care industry.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council's purpose is to serve as a liaison between Dove Healthcare, Orchard Hills, and the community. The council meets on a quarterly basis to advise management on matters of community interest and needs as they relate to nursing home and assisted living services. Such advisement is done on an individual basis and at council meetings. The council advises on various areas such as education, community relations, marketing, quality care, community needs, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.
